Listing of Huts (by climbing route) on Mt. Fuji
There are numerous huts on Mt. Fuji's trails. Each hut offers food, limited supplies, and rather spartan accommodations for climbers who would like to take a rest. All of which may be had at prices that may seem to match the elevation of the mountain. Keep in mind that a majority of the huts are only open in July and August, and most do not have any English-speaking staff. Any exceptions will be noted.
Where there are two phone numbers listed, the top number is direct to the hut (July and August only, unless noted), and the bottom number is to the hut's office in town. A few huts have permanently closed. They are still listed here, for the purpose of landmarking your ascent. I have also included the sleeping capacity of those huts where I have been able to obtain the information.
For a few more details about the huts, please see my FAQs page. Any links from this page to external sites should open in a new window.
If you have a comment to share about any of these huts (please, lets try to keep them positive), or can provide elevations or websites for those that are currently lacking the info, just send me a message via my feedback page. I can't visit all of these places, and I already know they're not the (fill in the name of your favorite hotel.) Your information will help this list become one of the most comprehensive on the web. Thanks!
Yoshida Route
Note: the Yoshida route joins the Kawaguchiko Route (next list) at the 6th Station.

Kawaguchiko Route
The 5th Station on this route is at the end of the Subaru Line Highway (toll road.) When descending, look for signs pointing to the Subaru Line and Kawaguchiko near the Fujisan Hotel, and near the Edoya Hut at the junction with the Subashiri Route to ensure you go down the correct trail.

Subashiri Route
This route joins the Kawaguchiko Route at the (original) 8th Station, above the Subashiri Route EdoYa Hut near the Fujisan Hotel 2. Therefore, the information for huts #7-13 in this list is repeated from the Kawaguchiko Route list. When descending, look for signs pointing to the Subashiri Route near the Fujisan Hotel, and near the Edoya Hut at the junction with the Kawaguchiko Route to ensure you go down the correct trail.

Gotenba Route
This route is the longest, and some say the toughest, ascent on Mt. Fuji. The ascending route follows an enormous sand field up to about the 8th Station, which does not provide secure footing as on the dirt and rock trails.

Fujinomiya Route
This route is the shortest ascent on Mt. Fuji, in terms of the starting elevation. The trail start at about 2400 meters above sea level; high than all the others. It's almost impossible to see a sunrise from any of the huts on this trail, so you need to plan accordingly. If your intent is to see the sunrise, be sure you are on the trail early enough to make it to the top, and maybe even to head around to the east a bit.
